We are currently looking to recruit a Production Manager for a leading manufacturing company based in Stratford-upon-Avon.
 
 
The Production Manager has full accountability for the Operational Performance (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) of all production areas. The individual will assume leadership of all production lines, producing more than 6m units per year. The role is responsible for a headcount in excess of 160 associates comprising of Team leaders, Cell Leaders, and Production Operatives.
 
 
 Key duties and responsibilities:
  • Accountable for leading the development of a large, high-performing team creating a centre of excellence.
  • Lead and drive change management initiatives to achieve above.
  • Responsible for implementation, monitoring and improve performance of department utilising Key Performance Indicators and other performance measures that are agreed and set by the Plant Director and Senior Management Team in relation to Safety, Quality, Delivery Performance and Cost across the end-to-end manufacturing process.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all production associates are fully trained to meet the skills necessary to fulfil the requirements of their job description and to continually review training to meet future production demands in line with targets.
  • Responsible for ensuring a high level of staff discipline, and that control is maintained in all production areas sections to prevent errors and to ensure compliance and improve efficiencies and lean methodologies.
  • To work alongside the Quality Manager, Materials Manager, Engineering Manager and others to flag and action any issues relating to scheduling, equipment / facility which could impact Quality, Manufacturing or Material Supply.
  • Ensure that all Preventative maintenance, shift start and close, 5s activities are carried out on time in full.
  • Uses knowledge and application of technical skills and continuous improvement methodologies to support the improvement of operational performance.
  • Maintains and uses appropriate data capture systems, enabling in depth analysis of performance.
  • To have oversight of quality metrics for the operations team ensuring deviations, change controls, CAPA’s are resourced appropriately and closed on time.
  • To provide technical expertise for supporting the operations team, review and approval of deviations, change controls and CAPAs.
 
 
Required Skills and Experiences:
  • Considerable ability to drive a strong safety culture.
  • Have excellent planning and organisational and time management skills.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strong servant leader, with significant demonstrable experience of achieving sustained success in developing people and teams, within a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in Operations Management position.
  • Must have a strong understanding of the end to end manufacturing process.
  • Has successfully led Continuous improvement projects and managed the change and transition process with teams of people.
  • Good commercial acumen and understanding of financial concepts.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferable
  • Relevant Management Qualification or proven experience
