We are currently looking to recruit a Planning Manager / Production Planning Manager for an established company based in Wolverhampton that manufactures and supplies a range of luxury products to household sector.  Part of UK based group of companies.
You will be responsible for leading an assembly team to achieve production schedules, managing MRP systems, improving production planning, reducing downtime, scrap and overall ensuring the delivery of all products on time and to specification.
This is a permanent position working Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.   In return for a salary in the region of £32,000 - £35,000 depending on experience.   
Duties and responsibilities as a Planning Manager:
  • Managing the control and sequencing of work orders within production
  • Management of Assembly Department, consisting of 16 personnel
  • Communicate individual schedules to assemblers ensuring their output is monitored
  • Ensuring sufficient resource each day to complete daily production schedules
  • Updating the MRP system with cancellations and rescheduled dates
  • Liaison with Purchasing Office, Quality, Design and Sales Departments
  • Manage the overdue orders, focus on removing them entirely through effective planning
  • Ensure Assembly Operatives have updated product knowledge and training
  • Responsible for your own health & safety and that of those in your care
  • Analyse and report to the business on the OTIF
  • Ensure Assembly are on track to deliver a four-week lead time
  • Meet with Quality Manager to address any non-conformances
  • Produce OTIF monthly reports for the business
  • Provide a report of assemblers individual output
  • Manage staff holidays and absence
Experience/Qualifications required:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within Production Planning
  • Experience with MRP Systems
  • Knowledge of KANBAN Processes
  • Excellent Verbal Communication Skills
  • Understanding of Assembly / Manufacturing Processes
This position is easily commutable from Wolverhampton, Walsall, Dudley, Wombourne, Tipton, Wednesbury and Albrighton.
