Packer & Material Handler 

Salary:  c£23,000

Location: South London 

Shifts: 4 on 4 off (Days and Nights 7am - 7pm) average of 42 hours over a 10-week period

Overtime: opportunities for overtime 

Key Responsibilities

  • Check stocks against Material Requirements and make list of all packaging and BIP’s required to be issued to Sub Stores Daily and to Gear up for weekend holding sufficient stocks
  • Pick all packaging from Stores for all manufacturing (Mould Shop) areas daily
  • All Packaging BIP’s to be stored away neatly
  • Pick all packaging from Stores for all manufacturing (Mould Shop) areas day before the weekend
  • Ensure all Items picked from stores are scanned to correct Backflush Bins
  • No excess packaging and BIP’s to be held at Production areas
  • All Materials issued from RM Stores to be put away neatly
  • Reconciliation of all Packaging and BIP’s when order completed and returned back to main stores
  • All open Material Bags to be re-stitched with correct identification labels, prior to returning to main stores
  • All returns from customer or outside storage to be rechecked, sorted, re-packed and re-labelled where necessary
  • Remove all completed product from all mould shops on a regular basis.
  • Scan all finished Goods into correct location bin (TRANSIT) prior to moving into Warehouse
  • All Finished Goods for External Warehouse to be scanned to correct location
  • Ensure all Cartons are correctly lablled and sealed and put in correct positions
  • Wrap pallet of product for removal to Despatch stores
  • Wrap all Secondary Operation product for removal to Stores
  • Ensure all Finished Good Pallets are adequately covered with Pallet Covers
  • Carry out Stock count in WIP areas on weekly basis
  • Perform Stock Take in various areas as required
  • Report any discrepancy back to Production Department
  • Liase with Despatch for any urgent deliveries
  • Arrange printing of any special labels
  • Report any discrepancy back to concerned departments
  • Arrange printing of any special labels
  • To carry out all duties according to company policy/ procedures, Quality briefing and SOP’s
  • Report any discrepancy back to concerned departments
  • Arrange printing of any special labels
  • Help seal all boxes prior to moving them to Transit
  • To carry out all other such responsibilities as may be allocated from time to time
  • General Housekeeping

Education and/or Experience

  • Manufacturing Industry Experience
  • Knowledge of MRP system
  • PC Skills (MS Excel, Word)           
  • PC Skills are Essential
