A leading plastics manufacturer are looking to recruit experienced Machine Technicians to join their team to support exponential growth.
 
 
Purpose of role:
 
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, purpose of the role is to ensure machinery runs to full capacity, minimising any downtime by managing breakdowns through identifying & rectifying problems in a timely manner prior to escalation to the Maintenance team if can’t be resolved.
 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate plastic moulding equipment & associated ancillary equipment including granulators, detectors and conveyor systems
  • Identify faults/problems with machinery/equipment and rectify in a timely manner before escalating to the Maintenance Team if the issue can’t be resolved
  • Ensure machines are running efficiently to maintain material efficiency and reduce waste
  • Undertake Quality control checks on products to ensure they meet specification
 
 
Experience / Qualifications required:
  • Experienced Machine Operator in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, however this role requires good mechanical skills and therefore would also suit Mechanical Fitters, Car Mechanics or other similar mechanical skilled position  
  • Mechanical maintenance experience, for example, working with changing belts, pneumatic controls, tool changes, machine set-ups
