An exciting opportunity to join a globally recognised manufacturer which is continuing to grow year on year.
As part of the senior leadership team, this role will be responsible for a site headcount of c300. A brand-new role within the business this an opportunity to make the HSE department and function your own and create a best practice, safety first culture.
You will ensure that the site is fully compliant with up-to-date HSE legislation, managing certifications for EHS systems.
The HSE Manager will be responsible for leading the implementation of consistent processes and procedures in line with current legislation and company standards. Change implementation is key for this role with the ability to able to influence personnel at levels of the organisation to ensure adherence to any implementation made.
Responsibilities as HSE Manager:
  • Responsible for leading all Health, Safety & Environmental activities ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice. You will be the key contact for all HSE issues and concerns.
  • Assist in the induction of new members of staff from a HSE perspective
  • Implement HSE policies & procedures ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards
  • Lead Continuous improvements projects and the implementation of change
  • Audit all processes & risk assessments for HSE aspects
  • Maintain ISO14001 & ISO45001 accreditation and management systems
  • Recommend control measures and advise on the standard of P.P.E. issued to employees
  • Conduct investigations into all accidents and near-miss incidents, reporting outcomes
  • Highlight areas where training / certifications is required to meet required standards
Experience / Qualifications required:
  • Hold a NEBOSH Qualification
  • Experience in a HSE Management role within a busy manufacturing environment  
  • Auditing experience & knowledge  
  • Be a change implementation champion - able to influence adherence to new processes and procedures
  • Fully conversant with ISO14001 / 45001 management systems
