We are currently looking to recruit an Extrusion Technician at a Plastics Business in North Derbyshire, working under the management of the Technical Manager, the ideal candidate for the role of Extrusion Technician will be responsible for ensuring standards are set and achieved.
 
 
Duties and responsibilities as an Extrusion Technician:
  • Responsible for extrusion process capability, problem solving, process changes and improvements
  • Acting as coordinator with technical and engineering solutions
  • The role will progress in time to support all manufacturing functions, with technical competencies and new technologies
  • Responsible for optimising plant capability
  • Identifying and co-ordinating process modifications and improvements, overseeing the project lifecycle and roll out of training and assessment
  • Project management skills required from idea conception to the introduction of technological solutions
  • Interdepartmental skills acting as a point of contact within the department
  • A point of contact for the development team, responsible for aiding the development and the introduction of new technologies
  • Takes accountability for constructing and reporting against measures and ensuring targets are met within waste reduction
  • Adhere to all SHE processes and standards and meet defined SHE accountabilities at all times
  • Working with QA and SHE Department to develop and control thorough internal audit process
 
 
Experience/Qualifications required as an Extrusion Technician:
  • Thorough knowledge of required processes and standards
  • Strong working knowledge of the Extrusion
  • Injection Moulding experience is desirable, but is not essential
  • Knowledge and skills in structured problem-solving techniques
  • A willingness to share knowledge to broaden the skill base within manufacturing
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Able and willing to learn to develop for current and future roles to strengthen organisational capability
