We are currently looking to recruit an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer for a leading chemical manufacturer
You will be a key member of engineering and will make a strong contribution to a busy and proactive team.
Your role will involve strong diagnosis skills, communication skills, liaising daily with individual stakeholders and the Head of Engineering
Key duties and responsibilities of an Electrical Maintenance Engineer:
  • Establish an effective working relationship with production & ensure regular communication and feedback.
  • Support the engineering department in achieving production targets via the delivery of high of standards of engineering practice.
  • Respond to breakdowns ensuring that all work is carried out quickly and effectively to minimise downtime.  
  • Work effectively within the engineering team, ensuring all necessary information is communicated to the Head of Engineering and other members of the team.
  • Ensure all relevant legislation and site procedures are adhered to, in particular Health and Safety and IEE Regs.
  • Maintain flexibility within the team, ensuring appropriate cover to meet production requirements.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance system, particularly identifying key equipment for attention.
  • Assist in the enhancement of maintenance activities.
  • Ensure effective completion of action lists on an ongoing basis.
  • Active involvement in the commissioning and ongoing support for new equipment.
  • Provide technical support including being able to competently fault find and make modifications on PLC systems. 
Qualifications and experience needed:
  • Time served Electrically (BTEC/HNC/D).
  • Completed a recognised apprenticeship.
  • In depth knowledge and experience with IEE Regs is essential.
  • Experienced in working with an array of manufacturing plant/machinery is essential. 
  • Strong PLC fault finding knowledge is an absolute must! 
This position is easily commutable from Wigan, St Helens, Maghull, Ormskirk, Appley Bridge
