System Design Engineer
 
 
My client based in Telford are looking to recruit a System Design Engineer to design, build and develop control panels along with PLC’s, Controllers and Motor Drives.   You will be responsible for the design and development of electrical systems, controls, and components in line with customer requirements.
 
 
This is a permanent position working Monday – Friday in return for a salary in the region of £35,000 - £40,000 dependant on experience.    Applicants must have previously worked as a Electrical Design Engineer, Controls Design Engineer, System Design Engineer, Panel Design Engineer, PLC Design Engineer or similar.
 
 
 
Duties and responsibilities as a System Design Engineer / Electrical Design Engineer:
  • Designing panels, plc’s and motor drives
  • Design and develop electrical components in line with customer requirements.
  • Evaluate the efficiency of electrical systems, machinery, components, and products.
  • Apply knowledge of electricity to design testing methods for different systems.
  • Work to design specifications and technical drawings.
  • Assure product quality by conducting thorough and reliable tests.
  • Research/test manufacturing methods and materials.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software to create technical plans.
  • Utilise design software to create prototypes of products.
  • Monitor a product and improve on future design.
  • Service and maintain electrical systems.
  • Collect, analyse, interpret and summarise data into written product reports.
  • Estimate project timescales, as well as material, construction and labour costs.
  • Attend meetings and give presentations to managers/clients.
 
 
Experience / Qualifications required:
  • Engineering Qualification (C&G, NVQ, BTEC, ONC, HNC, HND or similar)
  • Proven track record of Electrical Design (PLC’s, Control Panels, Electrical Components)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a Electrical Design Engineer
 
 
This position is easily commutable from Telford, Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Cannock, Albrighton, Wolverhampton, Stafford, and Edmond.
