We are currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer for a Machine manufacturer based in Stoke-on-Trent.
 
 
Duties and responsibilities as a Mechanical Design Engineer:
  • Designing and implementing cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety and reliability
  • Developing a project specification with colleagues, often including those from other engineering disciplines
  • Managing projects using engineering principles and techniques
  • Producing details of specifications and outline designs
  • Liaise with customers with occasional site visits, ensuring a professional image is always portrayed
  • Demonstrate good use of mechanical design principles and be highly competent with the use of 2D & 3D Design Software
  • Show calculations for design related issues and the considerations taken when designing equipment
  • Have an understanding and appreciation of Process & Instrumentation Drawings (P & IDs)
  • Communicate with suppliers and advanced operations to resolve issues and optimise design for manufacturability and efficiency. Will ensure designs are cost efficient, optimising performance and ease of manufacture with reliability
  • To adhere to and maintain the Company Quality policy to IS09001:2015 and to comply with all documentation and systems
 
 
Experience/Qualifications required:
  • Engineering Degree/HNC Mechanical minimum/Design Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years in machinery design or mechanical design experience in a fast-paced high technology environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills, ability to plan, organise, and implement multiple concurrent tasks
  • Good working knowledge of CAD/CAM/CAE computer systems, engineering materials and design, coating technologies and advanced manufacturing technologies.
